Top Ten UK Restaurants

Toptable asked me for my top ten restaurants, so here they are. Do you have any others to add to my list? Agree? Disagree? Couldn't give two shits...?

  1. lol. Great list, and I'd agree with you about the Ledbury as no. 1 for 2010 if I could get a booking sometime this year.

Peninsula is your fave for dim sum, then? I'll check it out for sure, then.

  2. good list but hardly covering the UK? is it that you haven't travelled much or that you think your faves are mostly in London?

  4. good list, Ledbury and Koya are on mine too. many restaurants I haven't been to yet, thanks for the inspiration...
I really enjoyed Launceston Place this year, is definitely on my top 10.

  5. How about Royal China Club in Baker Street. Best Dim Sum in the UK, without a doubt!

  6. AAIL - Peninsula has been my most visited - it's reliable and sturdy, just what I like a dim sum place to be. The best? Probably not.

Dom - No, it doesn't cover the UK much - I've travelled a fair amount in the UK but can't say any of the restaurants are a favourite; to me, a favourite would be somewhere I've visited more than once which is generally places close to home.

Poojavir - excellent. Never been to Pied a Terre, it's going on the list.

Ute - I only went to Launceston Place once, in 2008. Keen to check it out again.

Anon - I had a bit of a rubbish dim sum meal at Royal China - fried dishes were very poor indeed.

  7. The Ledbury was my number 1 too, and I agree with lots on your list. You are clearly a woman of taste, Lizzie.

  8. I watched a famous movie acted by Atkinson Rowland played as Mr Bean. He is very known in my country. In one of squence he was eating a plate of steak in a restaurant in London. Can you tell me what the name of this restaurant is?

  9. Interesting that the Sportsman is your only selection outside London - I agree - top quality locally sourced ingredients which are unfussily prepared and presented.

If you like Dim Sum and haven't tried Hakkasan - do so.
